Week 1 (21.10 - 25.10): "Taking over the home" led by Artist Jazmin van Breda
Over the course of five days, the children will completely transform the workshop space, covering and painting the walls, creating furniture and small homes/spaces and decorating existing furniture.
Children will paint and decorate and create pieces of furniture, creating an environment of play. Using fabrics, paint and cardboard to create an immersive environment – decorated as they would like their homes and spaces to be, and living within the art of their making.
The main artist inspiration being the work of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant at Charleston Farmhouse. Also taking inspiration from Matisse with his large wall murals and cut out collages. This technique will be applied when creating collages with fabrics.
By the end of the week there will be an imaginative new environment of the children’s making.

Week 2 (28.10 - 1.11): "Testing Boundaries" led by artist Gianna T
The primary aim of “Testing Boundaries” is to give children the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums, enabling them to discover their own personal preferences and creative styles. Through a series of hands-on activities, the workshop will encourage self-expression, imagination, and creativity. Gianna’s goal is to help children understand that art is not limited to traditional materials but can be created from everyday objects, allowing them to view the world around them with a fresh, creative perspective.
