Join us at Wild Trumpets this summer for a week-long deep dive into painting - not as a finished image, but as movement, surface, and experiment.
Children will be invited to work on canvas, wood, and large-scale formats using traditional tools alongside sponges, rollers, sticks, rags, and anything else we can get our hands on.
Throughout the week, guest painters will join us in the studio to share their own processes and challenge the idea of what painting is and what it can become. We’ll explore rhythm, layering, scale, and chance, painting that drips, builds, repeats, and even fails.
This is painting as action, not instruction, and no prior experience is needed.
Activities will include:
• Large collaborative murals
• Layered surface experiments (collage, scratch, pour)
• Painting on unconventional materials
• Tools-making for painting
• Painting as movement
