Wilders

At "Wilders" sessions, our guest artists work alongside young people aged 8-13 in open-ended contemporary art practice. Each session explores colour, texture, sound, form, technology, through drawing, coding, painting, ceramics, resin, mixed media and more.

These are ticketed sessions designed for experimentation rather than instruction. Participants develop their own artistic voice while engaging directly with professional art practices. The focus is on process, discovery, and the creative exchange between practicing artists and emerging makers.

Sessions respond to the artists' current projects and interests, offering participants insight into how contemporary art develops - from initial ideas through material exploration to finished works. Young people can pursue ongoing projects across multiple sessions or start fresh each week.

Working in Wild Trumpets' active gallery space, Wilders creates a bridge between viewing art and making it. Participants experience the reality of contemporary art practice while developing their own creative confidence and technical skills.
