To celebrate the UK/Brazil Season of Culture 2025, in partnership with @plu.ma.art São Paulo, Wild Trumpets is thrilled to host artist Gabriel Talamini.
Talamini is a Brazilian digital artist whose work explores sound synthesis through movement and interactive technologies.
In this series of workshops participants will experiment with innovative ways of drawing through coding, and how simple gestures can shape music and images. Bodies will become instruments by moving in space, opening hands, stretching arms, and we will discover how movement can create high and low tones, smooth and bouncy sound waves, and unexpected rhythms. Aimbing to create playful and experimental interactions and forms.
Sonic Beings invites you to explore a different range of connections and more primary background of Talaminis main research, Sarro Decoded. Where he reimagines the Brazilian street dance Sarro as an interactive beat that reacts to body movement, reversing the usual roles between dance and sound. The ever-changing results shows how technology can both preserve and reconfigure cultural practice.
Through sound experiments, collective play, Talamini's research and imagination, will guide the group to explore how music can be seen, felt, and shaped through the body.
This is a space to re-discover technology in surprising ways, which transcends brain rot logic, via active engagement, game and play.
Activities include:
Experimenting with coding
Making music with body movements
Exploring high and low tones
Playing with different sound waves (sine, square)
Creating soundscapes together
