Enter the world of the Council of the Nine, where nine spirit animals represent nine different ways of being in the world. Based on the ancient Enneagram system of personality archetypes, this immersive art camp invites children to explore character, identity, and creative expression through storytelling and sculpture.
Led by artist Sihan Ling, Wild Trumpets will be transformed into a theatrical installation featuring nine distinctive artworks created specifically for this project, each representing a different archetype: the perfectionist Bee, the caring Dove, the ambitious Peacock, the emotional Butterfly, the thoughtful Fox, the loyal Wolf, the adventurous Monkey, the powerful Bear, and the peaceful Whale.
Children will choose which character resonates with them and create their own unique artwork based on that archetype, developing their individual expression within the story world we build together.
Sihan Ling is a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in participatory art and community engagement. Working across sculpture, installation, and performance, Sihan creates immersive environments that invite collaboration and self-expression. Their practice combines traditional craft techniques with contemporary storytelling, making complex philosophical ideas accessible and engaging for young people. Sihan has facilitated numerous workshops at Wild Trumpets, developing a distinctive approach that blends hands-on making with narrative exploration and character development.
